Towns have personalities just like people and Ashburn is a fun place to live with friendly people and lots of community spirit. Plus, where else do they have a Fire Ant Festival? How fun is that! Don Winters moved from Ohio in 2004

My husband and I retired and were looking for a warmer climate and better cost of living. Ashburn is the best of everything - small town charm, friendly people, inexpensive living, and a great place to raise a family. - Sue Mastrario moved from New Jersey in 1992

Located in the heart of Georgia, Turner County encompasses all that defines Southern charm. Here you will find friendly faces, strong community bonds and life that still moves at a relaxed pace.

But setting Ashburn and Turner County apart from the typical small town is Turner County's ability to recruit new industry and business. In the past eight years, eight new industries have moved to Ashburn. And a new 120 acre industrial park has been created, all highlighting the efforts of the local governments to diversify their economy, while keeping its agricultural base and small town charm.

Ashburn was designated the state's fourth Entrepreneur Friendly Community. This means that everything you need to establish your new business is ready for you in Ashburn and Turner County. The Ashburn Turner County Chamber of Commerce strives to make doing business in Turner County easy.

The 4th Friday in downtown Ashburn is a new event for Turner County.  The event will start June 25th, 2010 through October 2010, each 4th Friday of the month from 5:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M.  This event will bring people into downtown to buy produce from regional farmers, visit the local businesses, and take part in a scavenger hunt at the downtown businesses(like finding the fire ant before the Fire Ant Festival).

Also setting Turner County apart from other small towns would be it's spirited and playful side, epitomized in its famous annual Fire Ant Festival, held each year the fourth weekend in March. It features over 20 events including a Fire Ant calling contest and much more!

Turner County is also known for some of the best hunting and fishing in Georgia, and Turner County has several hunting plantations where you can relax and enjoy Georgia's unique wildlife.

Turner County - where else can you find the World's Largest Peanut Monument, a Crime and Punishment Museum and Last Meal Cafe? And if you are looking for a true southern experience, how about a farm market? At Calhoun Produce you can pick your own strawberries and buy fresh, Georgia grown produce.

It is all here in Turner County!
